Birthday Ideas?

So...... apparently I have figured out how to post photo's thanks to Scott. Yes, he was the author of the last couple of posts. It was fun to see him get a little carried away, and I'm sure it won't be the last time either. Anyway, I'm looking for some fun birthday party game ideas for Halle's 9th birthday party. So, for the three of you that know about and read my blog :), any fun ideas? I'm having a hard time coming up with good old classic party games. I decided against a theme this year, way to much time and expense, and for the most part I think birthdays are blown out of proportion. For me it was all about the games, friends, and well okay, the presents. So if you have any great game ideas..... Please share.

How about a make-and-take type party...1) take pictures of the girls during the party, then print out the pics and have some 4X6 mini scrapbooks that they can decorate and design all by themselves, adding the pics from the party....a friend scrapbook.

2)make either necklaces or bracelets with beads....girls ALWAYS love a great project!

Another idea is have Halle limit how many she invites and take them to a salon for them all to get their hair shampooed and done up. Then hit an ice cream parlor for some ice cream....hmmmmm, I hope any of these ideas help or at least get your creative juices flowing!

Misty, I'm the worst with ideas like that. I was going to say you could call or email Emily...I'm sure she's done some way cute girly parties. Also, for Adrien's girls birthdays she just took them down to this "pampering place" (I think you can read about it on her blog), they had a tea party and got nails done, etc. She said it was awesome. Hope that helps! Let us know what you decide to do.

Misty, I don't know how much money you want to spend (sometimes a little is worth not having your house become a disaster) but above is the link that talks about that salon. I don't know how much it costs, but it sounds really fun.

Misty,
My name is Chelsi, and I found your sweet comment on my primary singing time blog. I am so happy that you will look to it for ideas. I am finally starting to settle into the calling more and more, and knowing there are others out there like me really helps. If you have any fun ideas I would love to hear about them to. I figure that is why we are all here to help each other out.

On a completely unrelated note - and I hope this doesn't sound creepy - but since I couldn't help reading your blog entry I have to tell you one of my favorite parties growing up was a "movie star" party, my mom and some older cousins did my and my friends hair and makeup and painted our nails. They also added big fancy hair clips, or satin gloves, just something extra and fun to our outfits - then my dad was decked out in a limo-driver like outfit and loaded us all in the car - opening and holding the door for us etc. and took us to the video store. We picked out a video and when we returned home my mother had a "red carpet" (just some cheap red material" stretched up the sidewalk, we walked down and posed as she snapped pictures, then we went into the living room where my parents passed out little personal bags of popcorn, watched our video and later ate cake and did the present bit. It was fun.

Anyway - good luck with primary and good luck with your daughter's party.

Misty, did you send me your blog address? I haven't checked my email, but I saw it on Keri's so I wanted to check it out. It's very cute and I've enjoyed all of the pics and stories.

Well, I didn't see when Halle's b-day is but I thought if it is sometime in December you could decorate gingerbread houses or at least gingerbread girls. I don't know - I'm not very good either. It sounds like people have given you some good ideas though. I liked the "movie star idea" with the red carpet and getting all done up and going "out." Well, good luck!
